8-1 Win for Ongar Town vs Snaresbrook FC

Resounding and convincing 8-1 win for the home side on a hot day at the Fortress! Raced into an early lead with new signing from Brentwood Town, Mitchell McCabe cracking in a superb left foot volley from the edge of the box after 4 minutes.. Ongar then grew into the game quickly, Joe Lilly putting us 2 up with another fantastic right foot finish in the top corner after a defence splitting pass from Tom Leach.

Ongar controlled the first half perfectly and added 2 more before the break through Aaron Blair and Harry Rawlins..

Second half started in similar fashion to the first with Ongar looking quick and incisive with the ball and defensively strong and organised without it.. Further goals were added by the impressive Joe Lilly, in a more advanced position than normal playing up top in a front 3, with Rawlins and Blair completing the rout.. A consolation goal scored by the Snaresbrook right wing back with cross come shot that looped over the top of the Home goalkeeper Haymes, but the result was emphatic and showed Ongar have real quality all over the pitch. Nyahunda (MOM) and Leach coming in for their first starts of the season were very impressive and Joe Lilly looking a constant threat with 3 goals and 3 assists.. Excellent first home ogame of the season witnessed a decent crowd enjoy the lovely weather and good football on offer..

Next round, at home again versus Bishop Stortford Swifts of the EOFL Premier Division. See you all then
